1.  Python-based SMB and PowerFeed Optimizer

This optimizer is designed for finding maximum throughput of SMB binary separation process based on Pyomo -- a Python-based, open-source optimization modeling language. The same method and case studies in Kawajiri and Biegler, including the linear and bi-Langmuir isotherm cases, are implemented.

2.  Matlab-based SMB Optimizer

This Matlab based optimizer is designed to find an optimal simulated moving bed (SMB) opreation that maximizes the throughput and meet the product performance criteria at the same time.  This model considers the standard SMB configuration for binary separation as the separation process and finds an optimal operating strategy that leads to the maximum performance. A documentation listing step by step procedure to use this optimizer along with an illustration is also attached. 3. Matlab-based SMB Simulator (requires MATLAB)

This matlab based simulator is designed to accurately depict a dynamically sized, n component simulated moving bed system with multiple choices of Isotherm. The simulation also includes an excel based data input/output structure and several visualization tools to interpret the resulting data. 4. SMB Simulator (doesn't require MATLAB) 

This simulator is designed to accurately depict the evolution of concentration profiles inside the simulated moving bed for an n component system with multiple choices of adsorption isotherms. The simulation also includes the feature of animating the concentration profiles by running a previously saved simulation file. In addition, the output concentration data can be saved as .csv file.
